Tires MICHELIN or DUNLOP
Switched to Michelin CrossClimate2 in the EU squared tire size so we can do rear to front rotations.
I’d recommend Michelin CrossClimates. They’re quite good in the snow (3 peak rated) and in all weather situations. Quite a breakthrough in tire tech IMO.
Think I'm going to get Michelin Cross-Climates in lieu of dedicated snows this year. Don't get much snow in NoVa, but I've always been happy to have winter tires both in the cold and for the few times it does snow. I've read an awful lot about the Michelins being almost as good as a dedicated winter tire in the snow, so I'll be interested to see how they behave -- they'll almost certainly be good enough for my needs.
I got Michelin Pilot Sport AS4. The responsiveness and grip I got compared to stock is insane, especially if they got a bit less pressure than asked by Mazda.
MICHELIN CrossClimate® 2. Best tire I ever bought.
The overall best one is probably the Michelin CrossClimate2, which has excellent wet and dry traction in addition to its excellent winter traction.
Last two tires I ran were GPR300s. The traction was good in the corners, only negative for me was the lifetime, only 3,000mi each before having to replace.
Dunlop is a fine brand and the Sportmax is perfectly good tire. You will be fine.
They are ok tires. In the summer, when it's hot and dry, they do pretty ok. As soon as temps get close to freezing they get super hard and it's like driving on plastic rc tires. At least, that's been my experience with them.
probably a terrible choice, i couldn’t get rid of the stock dunlops fast enough
