Tires MICHELIN or DUNLOP
These are not the tires for you if you are at all concerned about economy. I got 13,000 out of mine last time plus two HPDEs. That last time being the last time I daily-drove those tires too.
my 195/55/15 direzza's lasted last summer. approximately 7k, with over 40 autox runs, and 4 hot laps at a local track. they were about 50% remaining tread. keep in mind they were on a miata.
I can attest to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. They are freekin excellent: grippy, grippy and predictable in the rain, really quiet, ride nice, and the treadwear warranty can't be beat.
My 09 Lux only has about 6000 miles but when I bought it I expected to replace the OE tires right away. I had done my homework and came up with the Dunlop SP Sport Signature as the best bet, at a good price too.
the dz 101's are a good tire i had them pretty grippy and still good int e wet too
Summer tires are great in the rain. Michelin Pilot PS2's, Dunlop Sport Maxx's, Goodyear Eagles, Pirelli P-Zeros... any of those are going to be outstanding at high speed wet weather driving.
I run Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and they are excellent in the rain.
take a look at the Michelin Primacy MXV4 (620 tread rating) if you want the potential to get more miles on the tires
Dunlop 5000's Are these tires super loud for you guys too? I'm starting to get annoyed by mine. They seem to stick real well through corners though.
Bottom line for me, the Michelins haven't stood up in the desert heat and I've had them as OEM tires on a few vehicles. By 25,000 - 30,000 miles the rubber is cracking. How safe is that? Once again, I'm just sharing my perspective from my personal experience. Everyone else can do what they think is right.
