IIRC, my Dad's 2011 v6 Mustang, came from Ford with Michelin Energy Savers.
I have GMC 3500HD SRW with almost 50k on OEM Michelin tires. There's still pretty good tread on them.
Michelin AS4s for year-round work fine for me, although I live in the midwest. But as long as you're smart and aren't trying to be the first one on the road before the plow trucks make their rounds, I've never had an issue.
I put pilot sport 4s on my 2014 GT and love them. I stayed away from the run flats and they provide great feedback.
I have had a few cars with continental extreme contacts and loved them. I have a 23 Mach 1 that came with Pilot 4S tires, they are simply amazing. They grip the road like glue and there is zero chatter when cornering hard. I would definitely go with the 4S.
I put Michelin cross climate 2’s on. Love them. Great grip in all seasons. I also don’t hydroplane anymore. And they have a high mile warranty.
The Michelin Defender 2 is an excellent low rolling resistance tire, though expensive.
Back when I was in college (2001) there was a guy in my class who tested tires in a lab. This was around the time Ford SUV's would flip over, thanks Firestone. He said he would test tires at high speed, different weighs, and tire pressures to test longevity. I asked him which tires were best. He said he couldn't tell me because of confidentiality laws. I asked him which tires he puts on his wife's minivan, and he said he would *only* put Michelin tires on his wife's car.
I have the Michelin MXM4 my 2022 Model 3. I have about 25,000 miles on the tires and I am told I will need to replace them in a few thousand miles.
I just replaced a set of dry-rotted, cracked Michelin's with tread that seemed nearly brand new. It really sucked to fail an inspection because of tires with so much tread left.
