Tires MICHELIN or NANKANG
For my son's new 2015 Jetta SE, he ordered the following from Tirerack for this winter, and he is loving them: 4 x 195/65R15 MICHELIN X-ICE XI3
My winter set. 18x8 Niche Targa et42, Michelin Pilot Alpin 225/40/18
18x8 Neuspeed RSe52 with Michelin AS3's in 235/40 ZR18 on stock suspension. I'm debating VWR springs, but don't want to ruin the DCC.
I've been impressed with the Nankang NS-2R in 120tw and in 180tw. Would definitely recommend giving them a go if you burn through tires quickly. 265/35/18 120tw on the TSW worked very well and I ran them on the street between events. Strong sidewalls, even better than the RS3 at the limits, and very durable.
I have the Michelin Premiers and they're a great tire. I have 70+ k miles on mine with 5mm tread left. They're excellent in rain (even now) and snow.
I'd definitely recommend paying the little extra for the Michelins.
Personally I will probably never own a tire that isnt michelin again. Their tires are of higher quality and better compound than the rest in my experience.
I plan on running 235/45R17 Michelin Alpin PA4 on an OEM set of Audi wheels for the winter setup.
My wife's Jeep is running BJ's Michelin tires. Been on for two years and still work/look great.
Ive had them on the car for 2 weeks not 215/35/18. Yeah probably aren't great in the snow, and they are only rated to H but Im not going above hundred ever. Bid Deal. They do stretch GREAT and Thats honestly the reason why i got them:thumbup:. If you read the reviews they are decent but not crappy by any means. I'm running -2.5 degrees in the rear on air ride and I'm not spending $500-$800 to go through tires in 10k miles
