Tires Pirelli or BFGoodrich
I've been happy with my Pirell P-Zero Nero M+S... Good in cold, wet, slush, muck and even a few inches of snow... very good in the dry too.
My original Pirelli's were loud after 10K miles. I couldn't wait to get rid of them. The Yoko's are very quiet with exceptional handling characteristics.
Seconding BF Goodrich G-force T/A KDW2s water doesn't phase them.
I have BF Goodrich G-force T/A KDW2 on my GTI... They are FANTASTIC in the rain. I've gone miles and miles at sustained speeds of over 100mph in the rain with no problems whatsoever.
I love my PZero Nero M&Ss. They're VERY confident in the wet.
Including like new Pirelli P Zero Rosso 275/40ZR19, these puppies were $1380 delivered. The rims are flawless and I can recoup some money by selling the "B" centers. Tonight they are go on the car.
Both my cars wear Pirelli Winter Carvings in the white stuff. Very happy with those tires.
The Pirelli PZero Nero M&S is a ULTRA PERFORMANCE tire [one step down from the MAX PERFORMANCE] and is an all-season tire, which is a compromise in handling compared to the Kumho MX's.
I have the exact same problem with my tires. I also just got my 20,000 mile service done and they rotated the tires. I now have a lot of road noise from the front tires and even more vibration. At low speeds there's a loud hum and at 65 I still have steering wheel vibration. The vibration at 65 has been there since the day I bought it and as far as the noise the dealer told me I have to take it up with Pirelli. I hate these tires and would never recommend them to anyone.
I agree with the above poster; the Pirellis were less then impressive. Im at the end of the life of my 2nd set and have gotten 36K out of the 1st and 31K out of the second. They have cupped horribly, and consequently they are noisy as hell.
