Tires SUMITOMO or OEM Subaru
Well I have a 24 Limited with the 20s and live 2 miles up a dirt road. The tires are fine to me. I have an outback and tundra with 18s and don't notice much difference.
My Chrysler 300S 5.7 does shockingly well in medium snow. Blizzard conditions are not acceptable for that car, so give me a Subaru Legacy GT Limited Spec B with Blizzaks
I have a 25 yo Subaru Impreza RS that is completely unaffected by snow. That is as long as I put proper snow tires on in the winter, I forgot to switch one winter before a storm and my summer tires were pointless to say the least.
Its the tires folks, not the car. Anyone can do that, if you have reliable tires.
Winter tires are significantly superior to AWD. Should you question that.
For $70 I can buy Japanese made Sumitomos which have perfectly adequate grip in most conditions and long life, but they are quite loud due to the aggressive tread.
I found comparable value with the stock sumitomo tires the came with.
Tires not lasting. Needed to replace them at 12k miles and I’m not super hard on the car
Sumitomo HTR A/S P01. I tried them on two different vehicles and they were downright dangerous in the wet and snow, even when brand new.
