I've been riding Toyo Open Country AT3's on my taco for 4 years and they do great in the snow/ice.
Got some new Toyo Open Country.A/T 3s for the new truck. Way better look and seem to perform well in the snow and ice so far.
If you want something cheaper but still sticky, the Toyo R1R also comes in 205/45/16 and works great for spirited street driving.
Yes to the GY WR2 tires. Have them on an Outback with 50k miles so far. They’re great in the pouring rain and good in the snow. Still have lots of tread left too!
I have the Goodyear Weather ready 2 all weather tires and they are excellent!
Weather ready 2 from Goodyear is a better dry weather tire and a better wet weather tire imo. Also rides better.
Mickey MTs are my favorite for offroading, but they wear out super quick on the road. Running Toyo Open Country RT now. Offroad performance doesn't come close, but they are lasting awhile.
Perfomance degrades very noticably with age, at least I noticed that with my GoodYear winter tyres. First winter they were amazing, second wintee you could feel the drop-off but still good and during third winter it was significantly worse, to the point It would be worth to get a new set even though thread depth was still ok.
Goodyear tyres are soft and fall apart quickly
I have a personal distaste for Goodyear (I think that’s what those are. We called em good for a a year even when they were new.
