Turbocharger OEM Volkswagen or Garrett
My first vw was a 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg with 1.8t. I had the car from new drive it until it had 450k original turbo.
They are a good bit larger then the gt2871r you've been running. The twin scroll version- probably not much more lag then you've already got. Just an extra 200 hp.
i love my gt3071 v2 billet blade upgraded by arnold at pagparts.com i also have arnold's .72 a/r exhaust housing... and i rev out to 7800rpm... it pulls great
Somedays I wish I went with a 30series, but so far very happy with my gtx2867. Sure it could be the bigger gt30, but am happy with my lil gtx.
I chose the gtx2867. it fits the bill so well.
I had this for 5000 miles and I'm ready to upgrade to a GT3071R...I was able to get 317 hp and 338 lb-ft of torque with the GT28RS...the GT28RS was very fun, good power and quick spooling, but it lacks power up top, like in highway driving or long straights.
I know all 3 of those are good at 2 bar to 7100 rpm's. I am not sure if you can get by with the 3071 without it tapering down by 8k to 24-26'ish psi. I would bet the other 2 can handle that without a problem. I know the 3076 can make 40 psi to 7100.
I have a 2871R and love it, spool time is great and does pull hard all the way up to 7500. Mine is daily driven at 18-19psi I hit that everyday, i don't know the numbers on that but it feels good.
I have had both on my jetta. IMO the 60-1 is not nearly as good of a daily driver as the t3/t4e. The 60-1 took longer to spool but when it hit, it reallly hit. the t3/t4e had a more smooth power band but still had a strong "hit" once fully spooled. You will get more power on the dyno sheet with the 60-1 but you will see more power that you can use on the 60 trim.
Weak! I would of used a GT55R
