My SQ5 windshield has been stronger than any other car I've owned. It got hit with a rock so hard at 75MPH that I slammed on brakes and went to the side of the road because it was that loud. I was sure it smashed or was about to crack really bad. There was some powder on it from hitting it and I was extremely disappointed because it was right in my view. Residue washed right off and now I cant even see it. Literally blew my mind. I have acoustic glass in my car (prestige) but I'm not sure if the front windshield has it.
Reviews of spare parts for Audi
My windshield cracked the first time after 255.000 of highway only Kilometers
The windshield on my A6 C5 original from factory lasted 19 years until a rock about the size of a bouncy ball flew off a semi and hit me on the freeway. Through the years it had been pelted countless times by different kinds of debris.
New Monroe (factory supplier, found their stampings on the shocks) front shocks en route.
I got Pirelli Scorpion Winters for my 22. In past on other vehicles have had tons of success with Blizzaks and on cars where performance was less a concern even Generals. Older S4 (‘13) ran Michelin X-ice. Good luck!
I’d love to try a bunch of different ones, but I’ve liked the Toyo GSI-6, had a nice sized tire to fit a 19” OZ wheel set I picked up
I have Hakka R5's on my S5 and doubt I'll be going back to anything else. They've handled winter here in Alberta very well so far.
I can also vouch for Toyo Observes, used those before switching and I had no complaints.
I took the alternator apart as well, but it's quite worn and a new one does not cost a fortune, so it's not worth it to refurb it.
It’s so incredibly frustrating how easy it is for these windshields to crack. My 2013 a5 is so prone to tiny rocks cracking the windshield
Waterpump and thermostat are common issue with Audi. I had a 2017 S3 and had it replaced around 65K miles, and now my 2019 S5 was replaced under warranty at approx 38/39k miles. The mechanic mentioned something along the lines, its made out of plastic.
