Bled brakes and clutch with ATE super blue
Reviews of spare parts for Audi TT
This is definitely a fix for those who complain about H&R springs.
I finally got around to installing a new thermostat/o-ring/housing and coolant reservoir/cap yesterday. When removing the thermostat, I noticed that the bottom bolt was VERY loose... I had done the thermostat without housing about a year ago now, had never leaked coolant before... My best guess is that I just didn't torque it enough and it slowly loosened, but only when cold (just a guess, but would help explain why no drips when car was running on ramps) and in small enough amounts that I did not notice a puddle on the ground.
I've always had sucess with the Deka ETX-20L in the DSMs, two EVOs, a Saturn race car, and now the TT (most of them running on E85 which is hard to start on cold winter mornings). As long as you discipline yourself to not run accessories with the engine off, they are a great option!
APR front-mount intercooler and custom aluminum intercooler piping, both sprayed with heat dispersant coating
+ get the continental DW, it has soft walls
When I got the car back from the shop I installed a wide-band O2 and changed the plugs to NGKBKR7e's (Copper) gapped to 0.028. I also re-greased the DV, since last time I had used generic grease general purpose grease, with high temp grease. The car feels a lot better now, and timing pull ranges from 3-8 under WOT. The AFR gauge shows anywhere from 12.5-13.0 under WOT, and bounces between 14.3-15.2 or so while cruising. I also believe that I hear the DV a bit more (have a cone intake), so maybe it was sticking?
I had Kuhmos on both of my MK1 coupes (summer tires, never tried all seasons). They were quiet and comfortable until they weren't. Seemed to be a cliff you go over with them wear-wise. They were great, then very quickly you would get the noise/pounding "change me" stuff. But for the price they were hard to beat. Switched to the PSS on my MKII based on this forum. The Contis were out of stock and I couldn't wait, but they were also a possibility. Ran the PSS tires one season and they were very nice. Still had good performance in both wet and dry compared to the Kuhmos. Can't give you longevity since I traded that buggy in on my present TTS which came stock with Toyos, but I could have made at least one more season on them.
Fantastic looking turbo, never looked into them before. The map is slightly inferior to the GTX2867R's map though.
Waterpump failure at 26k factory installed (plastic impeller, bearing)
