I ran on my original ignition coils until about 220k miles until I started getting random misfires.
Reviews of spare parts for BMW
The new Hankook V12 Evo2 is supposed to be better in terms of quietness and driveability. That may be a good buy on a budget.
Also did an oil change to Mobil 1 0/40 and a Mann filter. Replaced a nasty K & N air filter with a Mann.
NGK BKR6EQUP. Those are the original and they tend to work well for the entire 100k change interval while many other brands/models can be problematic after a while.
I pulled my original plugs, and they were exactly the same as the replacement NGK. They're nice so far.
We run a Stoptech BBK on the BMW 335 car that I race in endurance races (4, 9 or 12 hour) and we run either slotted or plain rotors, but never run cross-drilled. Our rotors last longer and we don't have the cracking issues associated with cross-drilled.
I just put a set of Wagner on the rear of my E60. Same pad specs and a perfect fit. The car stops dead fast.
I had an older BMW myself (E36) and if you want reliability you'll need aftermarket (improved) radiator, radiator hoses and water pump.
My M3 came used with PPG glass, so I'm guessing it's been replaced at some point. Seems to work fine, but as many people say, it doesn't reduce the glare as well.
Got the tire just after thanksgiving has less that 1500 miles. Hit nothing blew out on a highway going 70.
