Reviews of spare parts for BMW
I love driving RWD in winter, especially a good one with a torquey V-8 and a manual transmission like my BMW 550i. It handles so amazingly well in the snow, so effortless. Obviously, high quality winter tires like Nokian Hakkas are an absolute requirement.
I dailyed my E36 BMW with just a pair of Blizzaks on the rear, got me through Wisconsin winters.
I wanted a drifty car to put known amazing snow+ice tires on (Nokian Hakkapeliitta) and wound up with a BMW e36 with the small 6cyl. The tires made it way, way less drifty than I’d hoped- even in 10” of heavy lake effect snow, it just grunted along like it was raining & 50°F. I didn’t even have to wait for the snow plows because *it plowed the snow*.
I had Blizzak WS90s on my RWD BMW for all five years I owned it. My wife has an AWD SUV with all weather tires. She drove the BMW once in the snow and was shocked to find she felt safer in it than her SUV. The only real advantage AWD gives you in the snow is traction to get moving. Once you’re moving, which wheels are propelling you is much less important. What becomes important then is your ability to stop and maneuver. And that is dictated by your tires.
My m57 197hp originaly still on original chain. Its at 265.000km now
My 535i with the 740d thermostat sits at 90-95 during normal use, even sat stable at 95c during 40c weather in traffic. When beating on it in the mountains got it up to 99 at like 28c ambient.
You need to replace that. Bmws run hot. Only fix
I stopped at the gas station, got a gallon of good old tried and true Prestone Green which destroyed a water cooled alternator.
