I’m running 110k miles in my M40 X3. There was a coolant issue but other than that it’s been an excellent engine.
Reviews of spare parts for BMW
25 iX, 21' Bridgestone Alenza, got 9k. 70 city/30 highway, Southern CA. Replaced them with Hankook EVO. So far liking them way more.
Go for 5W40 rating. They work the best for all BMW diesel engines. I’d recommend the Mobil 1
I’m using Brembo brake discs and Ferodo brake pads.
It was $100 for the BMW cabin filter. After 20 min of trying to squeeze in to do it, I would say, that $90 was worth it for the cabin air filter.
I use and recommend Wynns Formula Gold, available from Halfords, Amazon and many other outlets. I have used it every 6th fill up for the last 4yrs in my now 13yr old BMW 318d. Great fuel economy and acceleration sails through the MOT emissions test, a bit more expensive than some of the other treatments on the market but I find it pays for itself with the increased fuel economy.
Notice the radiator is leaking. Replace that. Car still not happy, cooling fans on full blast. Codes point to a thermostat, but the radiator hoses get warm. In my pea brain thermostats don't normally just sometimes go bad, they're typically either all broke or not broke. Ordered a thermostat from Trumplandia anyways.
Buying the brake disc wasn\u2018t even the expensive part. Driving it to the point where it fits the wall, that was.
10k miles later, went to do my usual 1k mile quart of oil, looks like chocolate milk.
My BMW has had very few engine issues…what it has had is a lot of weird and very expensive high tech issues…for example one of the day time running lights went bad because moisture got into the circuit board…this requires a new headlight fixture which was $4k…I just don’t use the DRLs anymore…expect these types of problems to slowly kill your soul
