Amsoil 25k Oil in a 2017 Ford Focus. Went 20k miles. Looked like standard 5k oil when it came out. Engine is still doing great 60k later! I do 7500 mile changes with Royal Purple now.
Reviews of spare parts for Ford Focus
If you want an all season, you can’t go wrong with Continental, or the Pilot Sport 4s summer tire like most suggest.
I had a set of Falken Azenis RT615K+ for about a year, they were great.
I WAS using Subscribe and Save for Amazon Full Synthetic 5W-30 and Motorcraft FL-910S Filters, but they keep running out of stock
if you use the Ford/Motor raft FL400S, you can put all 6 qts in. Our engines benefit in some way or another from the bit of extra oil, iirc. Makes it easier than measuring out to get to the 5. whatever the stock filter size is
I'm extremely impressed with their Sport pads, when compared to their closest Hawk competitor, HPS. I ran Hawks for quite a while and they were ridiculously loud. The Sports give me similar bite, maybe a tad more, but no squeal whatsoever. These were on a Focus RS that I used for DD/autocross.
NGK actually makes the original plugs for the mk3 focus (because the engine is based on a Mazda L series) so if you're doing plugs for a focus using NGK will be just as good if not better than the "oem" brand
Rain-X Latitude on my Focus. The type without the built in treatment. I did break one of the add-on clips once, so be mindful of that if your car has something other than J hooks.
I have a shitty looking Ford Focus that I maintain myself...The alternator failed and I couldn't be bothered doing the work myself so I took it to the local dealer.
I also have an 18 and replaced factory with an Optima Yellowtop. Did not last long at all which sucks, was excited to try a battery I've heard so much good about. Went back to OEM since I didn't want any headache and it lasted me quite a bit the first time. Seems like Optima has declined in quality over time.
