Had an 02 accord that was told all the auto transmissions fail early. It only started slightly slipping on the 1-2 shift (only at heavy throttle) at 290k and then by 330k it was consistently slipping on the 1-2 and 2-3 but was perfectly drivable until it was totaled.
Reviews of spare parts for Honda
I had aftermarket front brakes installed by a local mechanic for around $300. They ended up squeaking constantly and just didn’t feel right. I eventually had them redone with genuine Honda brakes at the dealership — it cost me $575, but the difference was night and day. No noise, smooth feel, and it came with a 12-month warranty.
Denso for sure, will last as long as the original, I think 20 years was a good life. The no name and parts store brand ones almost always fail shortly after install
I bought the NTK one (part number ID0213) from Rockauto for \\~$33 after shipping back in March, along with a generic pigtail from Amazon. So far, the code has not returned, but I've only logged 125 miles since installation.
Going to an OEM solved my grinding starter issue immediately, and it’s been 3+ years.
I got a refund and bought an OEM. Still working great 25k miles later.
I just replaced both of my fans a month ago on my 2008 ex. I went with TYC fans from Rockauto. The job was pretty easy. I did everything from above. The hardest part was getting the wires unclipped off the bottom of the passenger side fan. I removed my battery and tray as well as metal bar in front. There is one bolt at the bottom (most are at the top) to remove that metal bar/beam/crossmember thing but if you remove the battery and tray it’s easy to get at from the top.
They're adequate but definitely not "great", where I live there aren't any streetlights so my automatic high beams kick on unless there's an oncoming car. There's also a lot of deer, so I've already pre-ordered some ditch light brackets from No-Lo Designs so I can get some better coverage.
I just took the original rear shocks off an 07 Pilot with 240k miles. It was squishy.
The Civic has a question mark with it's L15 turbo engine and premature failing head gaskets. Same issues seen in CR-V's with that engine. Not everybody is going to experience it, but it shows up often and is definitely a design weakness in that engine.
