OEM Toyota Tires

Rating 4.5
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:

My AWD gen5 Prius is surprisingly capable in the ice and snow with the stock all season tires. I live in northern Indiana and just drove home through a blizzard last week. Was able to cruise comfortably at 40mph in pretty much the worst conditions.

Pros: capable in ice and snow

Pilkington Windshield

Toyota used an acoustic windshield on the 2006-2009 refresh. If you own an earlier model it can be installed as an upgrade. You can also get a shaded windshield - I asked Safelite to see if that was an option. They installed a Pilkington.

Pros: acoustic windshield upgrade
Vehicle: Toyota Prius

I liked Ecopias, I had them twice on my 2013 and thought I got the best fuel economy out of those, however they only lasted like 60k of highway driving, and aren’t the quietest.

Pros: best fuel economy
Cons: not the quietest
Mileage: 60000 km

OEM Toyota Battery

Assuming that it's a hybrid and not a PHEV it should run you about $2,500 to have it done professionally, or less than $1000 to do it yourself. At least that was my experience with my Prius.

Pros: done professionally, do it yourself
Cons: cost $2,500, cost $1000

Nokia Tires

Got mine a few weeks ago. Can't say I'm crazy about them. I drive a Prius Prime. On stock tires I got about 95+mpg(summer) on my 120mi daily commute. When I got G4, I was getting ~85mpg(summer). When I got G5, it dropped to about 75mpg(now). With just the gas engine, I got about 55mpg on stock tires, ~49 on G4, and something like ~45mpg or a bit higher on G5. I know new tires are generally more draggy. But this kind of number is still concerning, even though G5 has certified low rolling resistance and G4 didn't

Pros: low rolling resistance
Cons: decreased MPG
