I had a similar issue with my Mk4 VR6 Golf, coolant level would drop a tiny bit over time with no obvious sign of leakage..turned out to be a very small leak at the bottom corner seam of the radiator.
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
Thanks for all of the replies everybody big help love the community I was able to source the parts I needed today timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and pink antifreeze there was green in my car so I flushed it out before I started to do the timing job, which btw took me 7 hours mannnn I’ve never done one of these before and looking at the DIY and YouTube helped a lot but it’s all done and can make it to work tomorrow. If I was off would have started this tomorrow morning I had no choice but to start today at 2:30. Took her for a drive sound was gone car feels great. Again thank you all!
The 94553 Iridiums... the tip will last longer, but the gap will widen quicker as the ground electrode does not have a platinum disc on it like the Laser Platinums, so, the Laser Platinums will last longer.
The NGK iridium I mentioned before does not have the correct reach. The website says they are the same, but they are not. I think the database is wrong. When I go back to the copper NGK that does have the correct reach, the car drives better. I had all three in my hand and the iridium is shorter from the end of the threads down (reach). NGK websites say they are the same .75 reach. They are not the same in my hands. The copper plug is. NGK 4435.
Nitto makes a good snow tire also. I had the SN-2 on my Tiguan, and wished the SN-3 was available in the US... which I would immediately buy if given the opportunity.
Went with Stoptech slotted, EBC reds, Stoptech SS lines, Stoptech STR-600 fluid.
Made a night & day difference on my non PP 15 SE.
Granted, I really push the car often in the mountains. But the change to this refresh was immediately noticeable. Fade takes a much longer time to set in. But it will still set in. There's far better options if you push it a lot.
But it's such a massive improvement over stock. Which would have fade set in almost immediately after a few harsher corners.
If Hakka R3 is available in your size, buy Hakka R3 and don't consider anything else. They really are that good. I've had R2 and R3, both amazing.
You can take a bigger hit in tires alone. For instance, on my stock ContiProContacts, I average 27 mpg with 235/50r18 tires. Same size but with Nokian Z-line A/S, a tire that grips the road much better wet and dry, I'm lucky to hit 25 mpg, usually more like 22 mpg.
Anyone with TTRS fronts has this problem? I definitely noticed this problem ever since I installed Audi TTRS front brakes. I also use Carbs.
Since I installed the StopTech slotted brake rotors on my 2013 Golf R last winter, every time I've driven in the rain, after cruising long enough such that the brakes get "cold," as soon as I mash on the brake pedal, there is no stopping power whatsoever. Once the brakes "heat up" the response and stopping power are as what I'd expect. On a dry day, this does not happen at all - the brakes are firm and the stopping response is exactly what I'd expect.
