Yes they are timing chain. I bought my wife a 2016 sport 5spd new and its almost 80k miles now, only repair is the line going from the res to the slave started leaking, replaced that and all is good, no other leaks, doesn't appear to use any oil between changes and no other repairs.
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
I'm going with 245/45R18s in the front, and 275/40R18s in the back (a poor man's AWD hack). The 245s are going to be Yokohama Advan Sport A/S . I found multiple solid reviews, and the AS[SUP]2[/SUP] (s) are supposedly comparable to the holy PilotSports. Great traction, with sidewall technology for quieting. In theory, these should feel like glue compared to the Kinergy GTs.
I installed a Viofo A129 Duo. Front camera was easy enough to install - just mind the airbag in the A-pillar. Now, the rear camera... I unwisely chose to route the cable along the passenger side, meaning a lot of trim had to go off, and two more airbags to avoid. Then I broke one of the clips in the hatch wiring boots. If I had to do it all again, I'd try to fish the cable from the mirror assembly directly to the rear of the car. Then fish it through the hatch boot without foolishly trying to remove it. That said, a dual dashcam is incredibly useful, and Viofo models are great for the price. Installed this (along with a hitch step) to protect the car from those who can't park properly.
I replaced my wipers with Bosch wipers and added Rain X to the windshield and it's significantly reduced the wiper chatter on my golf.
Good install info. I have an A119 with GPS and polarized filter. It is a great dash cam.
Didn\u2019t even know VW made this, I always grabbed BG 44K and would add every 20K or so.
I've had my 2019 S since May, 2018. The original wipers wiped OK, but began to get noisy a few months ago. We just went into the rain season here, so I replaced them with new from a VW dealer in San Antonio TX. The new ones are dead silent and wipe cleanly and completely.
Ditched my Falkens the first week of ownership. Blizzaks rock!
I just run cheap studded federal himalaya ws2 (235/45/16) on 9x18 wheels. But im dealing with ice not snow.
My Mk4 Golf is at 146000. And I've religiously changed oil and filter every 4000. One time I let this synthetic oil go for 9000 miles, it caused pre-ignition and destroyed 2 sparkplugs, needed a tow, and a expensive sparkplug replace at VW.
