I did just put these tires on my wife's 2016 jetta sport. They have 3k miles on them already in the past month and they are great. Quiet on the highway (though when you hit expansion joints it's kinda loud) ride good and handling/traction for wet, dry and the little bit of snow we got was pretty impressive too for an all season tire.
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
No warranty here (MKV), but i experienced a (significant) decrease in oil consumption, when switching from Motul, to MolyGen. YMMV.
The driver's side one on mine bounces at the bottom sometimes. What I did was replace it with a Bosch 22" one vs. the OEM 24" size. That solved it for me. Additionally, it annoys me that the passenger-side wiper travels smack into my field of vision, creating an annoying line on the window in the rain that makes visibility tough sometimes. Really poorly though-out wiper design.
Since you're going through and doing the timing belt, I highly recommend FCP Euro's Contitech kit. I just installed this on my Jetta. For ~200 bucks, it's hard to beat. All quality parts too.
I opted to go w/the following: Golf R springs (euro wagon rears form E-ACCA), Koni Special Actives, Golf R bumpstops. I have about 5K on the setup, and absolutely love it. The tire-to-wheel cap is around 38mm front and rear, and there's very little sag with a loaded boot.
I have OEM GTI fronts / Golf R rear springs, and Bilstein B6 rear shocks. I love this setup, it has a rear bias so it turns nicely, still comfortable, vastly better than the oem setup. A full GTI setup works well IF you use with those B6 rear shocks, otherwise the damping feels too light.
205-65-16 run fine on our Alltrack, no complaints and rides great even with studded Hakka 8.
Buy the Nokian! The best snow/ice/slush tire made! In Maine it\u2019s Nokian, Blizzak and then the X ice in that order. I run the R9 studded on both my dubs in 17\u201d. Work awesome
I had GR-2s on an old Mk3 Golf. They were fine.
agreed, I bought Jetta/Vento ecodes from BFI (DJ auto, same as ebay) and the wiring that came with them was absolute garbage, the wires were so thin and and they were way too long so they had to be squished at an angle to fit between the headlight harness and the plug, which in turn caused the lights to be dim, and if you wiggle the harness with the lights on they'd get brighter. The splice-connectors for the city lights are flat out terrible and good luck trying to use them in a cramped engine bay without skinning your knuckles or having to do 2 or 3 tries to get them in place Also the beam adjusters didn't work right out of the box, one unit was slamming around in the "case" if you will, since the adjuster clip thing wasn't holding onto it. Also which was an even bigger issue was the prongs from the wires inside of the headlight's plug were wobbly right from the start. Trying to plug them in pushed some right out.. Never again.
