Had a better look during weekend and the "substance" in the expansion tank looks and feels like rust particles not oil. It does not feel slick. I'll be replacing the pump with the aluminum Graf unit soon, hoping I'll last more than 100k at least.
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen Tiguan
The Tiguan LWB sold in Mexico has Amber rear turn signals, so I don't know how VW is saving money by having Red in the US version which is also assembled in Mexico.
I've only used the original winguard sports. Can't complain for the price and it's purpose. They never let me down in a blizzard...
I feel like the engine sounds a lot better, and feels better running 4200 vs 6200, both of which are VW spec oils...
It worth looking at Total Quartz Ineo Long Life 0W-20, complies with VW 508 00. It will be my pick for my 2019 Tiguan 2.0 TSI EA888 gen3-B V100 = 8.1 V40= 40 VI= 183 Pour Point = -66 C
To your comment about the GITI tires...my 2019 SE came with them. I've put about 2k miles on the car so far. I have always been a bit of a tire snob, changing OE tires for higher grade ones rather quickly. But I have to admit that these OE tires have really surprised me. They're quiet, smooth, and do the job a small SUV needs. Now, I'll still probably go with a different company when these wear out, but for now I'm satisfied.
So it looks like they solved the problem. Swapped out the fuel pump. I guess it was having issues with low fuel pressure. Said they metered it earlier but didn\u2019t find anything. Low and behold, it fixed it.
I’m now on my third water pump. The shop replaced the last one with an aluminum water pump from Porsche to avoid having it fail again in the future.
OEM tires usually aren't great. Had pro contact conti's on the Tig and my Golf. They are just loud and hard.
costly repair I have had to replace the sensor in the wheel for the ABS before.
