I got the Michelin Defenders (stock 17"). Definitely feel better than the Pirelli Scorpion Verdes that came with the car IMO. Tig is quiet and smooth, handles potholes very well, even makes my dirt road seem very smooth and quiet. Rain puddles like they aren't even there. Snow like a champ. Drove in a monster snowstorm this past winter, cars were off the road left and right, plows just couldn't keep up with it... Tig was driving like a tank, non-issue. Summer driving has been fun too!
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen Tiguan
The best performance tires I ever had were the Continental Pure Contact, V rated. Superb handling, road feel, good ride quality. These were on my 2013 Tiguan.
A few months after owning my 2018 SEL-P I wound up replacing all four tires. It shipped with Continentals and I replaced them with Pirellis, the difference in road noise was like upgrading an entire class of vehicle. It's not funny how loud the Conties were and how much quieter the Pirelli are at the same size/wheel/etc.
I just completed my first oil change on this car and it was a breeze compared to my MK5 R32. We have a bone stock 2018 SE AWD and I didn't even need to get the car on jack stands. Oil Filter, VW P/N 06L115562B
after 1k of changing my oil I have to say the Liqui_moly remains pretty clear compared to when I used Castrol.
You should stick with the OEM filter, made by Mann or Hengst. You can buy at VW dealer or Amazon.
I purchased from Ecstuning and elected to replace the whole control arm instead of just the bushings which I hear is a very tedious job. I went with the meyle lower control arms because a pair was as much as one of the oem. It is supposed to be more reinforced and heavy duty compared to the oem.
On the topic of rear wipers has anyone else had issues with the OE blade? I had mine replaced under warranty because there was a big section not clearing water at 2k miles. The VW replacement blade wasn’t much better now it’s been a year and I just replaced it with a Bosch A383H which is a direct fit replacement. I’ll have to wait for another good rain to test it.
My son went to a local shop who used STP/Fram/K&N and collapsed the material inside the housing, and the motor gave him fits and lights.
Mobil 1 filters are made by Champion Labs, which they use a louvered center core. The downside is, consistency, as the louvers have a tendency to be not be completely punched open.
