I got a 2867R with two-port and a recirculating valve. I wouldn’t say it is snappy but spool it up to 3k rpm’s and then just roll into it and it’ll take off. When you shift you’re above 3k so just roll back into it. On 93 I have 350 and E40 I have 420 but I like how it drives.

I have a 2860 with junits elbow tuned by JST. It spools to 20psi by 2800rpm, and pulls all the way past 6k. If you have the money, 2860 beats powermax in every way… okay maybe PM spools slightly faster, but the 2860 is making 40-50whp more power AND it extends the powerband to 6k+.
I put one in mine, ~225 hp @ 11 psi, starts spooling at 3000 rpm
I was running the GT2860RS turbos and they’re making the power you’re aiming for too. I can say I was spinning tires in third gear and hitting boost around 3400 RPMs. They may be slight older and won’t spool as fast as the newer GTX, but that particular turbo will still kick in the pants and not drain the wallet. And they are ball bearing turbos too.

Hey, so I recently bought a Garret GTX4202R and some Mace cams for my 2010 Camaro RS. I'm already planning on a getting a spec clutch to handle the new power, but I can't find a kit to build the 6 speed Aisin.
I went g25 660. It is pretty incredible the power they deliver for how small they are.
I have it on my 180sx, it's a great little turbo, spools quick. although I'm only running 300hp which I'm pretty happy with.
I have the 2867 and it’s such a good turbo. I have no complaints
The Stage 1 Garrett doesn’t provide enough of a bump from an OEM is38 with a lifetime warranty to justify the expense.
