Other than the head gasket and I did replace the engine block years ago I've been very very happy with mine. Just had to replace the ignition coils a few months ago. And the suspension was super old so I did that too. I've got 314k on mine and I drive it almost every day.

Subaru is known for the exhaust flanges rotting and breaking like this. The proper fix is to take the broken bits apart and install a new muffler.
Insurance covered for the OEM windshield.
I just had my front lower control arms + bushings replaced on my 2017 Forester two weeks ago. The vehicle was shaking pretty hard at highway speeds. 56k miles.
If it’s a cold start I’ll let my car idle in the driveway for a few minutes before going anywhere. That’s because it’s 36 years old and has a carburettor.
I just got my Impreza done a few months ago and it was about a $1k total for glass, install, and calibration, although I used aftermarket glass which fits a bit different.
I replaced the lower control arms in my 2016 Forester at 150k. The car would rumble at 75mph+ and that’s what caused me to replace them. If you don’t feel any rumbling, then you can hold off on replacing them.
the CVT transmissions are fragile and don’t last much over 100k.
Not even 6 months into it the head gasket exploded and the engine was completely fucked.
company knew of head gasket issues and still continued to sell the design.
