I tried to replace the whole mirror on my 2006 S80 but got codes for the alarm system and the key fob would no longer work. It's because there is an antenna built into the mirror which is coded to the key (I suppose). Anyway, I found a good mirror at the salvage yard and disassembled it, figuring out how to not break anything on mine. The transplant was successful and I had zero errors/codes to deal with, nor any wiring issues.
My Volvo dealer wanted $200 to replace the cabin air filter and I declined, claiming it was a "$20 part and 10 minutes of labor. " It turns out I was wrong, it was a $22 part and 5 minutes of labor.
I have a 2020 XC60 with 70K miles and it's been relatively trouble free. I did have to replace the front brake rotors last summer and that has been the extent of repairs so far.
I have a 2020 S60 T6 Inscription that’s now at only 45,000 miles — it’s been reliable except it went through two sets of rotors/pads early in its life, both times covered under warranty, there was a TSB so some kind of design flaw.
I know I can do a Volvo 3.0GS in about 10 min. Cause I’ve had so many starter issues.
My S60 is literally eating those ball joints. Had the same happening to mine (bit it dented the wheel arch too). Replaced the ball joint. After like a year brought the car to repair shop for a check up before a holiday and the fucker was bad in the right side. Now I hear clunking again (btw it never really went away, despite changing almost everything in the suspension)... Gonna check it tomorrow.
These are not good lights 2025! Highbeam is way too narrow. On curvyroads you cant see where you are going. I was really dissapointed after my previous Mazda, which had adabtive and much wider highs.
I drive a 2006 xc70 and while I have regular tires on I absolutely hate how much I lose traction on even the slightest pedal use. I have to baby every turn and intersection so I don't lose grip. Really disappointed with this vehicle.
One thing I am noticing though on a negative level is a very distinct and rather annoying whistling noise coming from the windshield (center area; rather top section at the level where the rear mirror is) starting at approximately 150kmh. I am driving often on the German Autobahn, the car is specified for high speed also - and I would simply not expect such a distinct whistling noise from a 80.000€ car.
