Owner reviews for air filter
All mine needed was an oil change , engine flush, and new air filter. One of those things fixed it.
I was able to feel a difference right after replacing the air filter with WIX's. I can feel less stress on accelerating, even if there will be no actual hp/performance benefit.
Here in holland we do every 15000km(9000 miles) or every year depending on which you reach first a small maintenance ,which includes oil change, air filter replacement, oil filter, full check up on components and hybrid health check, rotating tyres.
I've used these in a few cars and never went more than 50k miles between cleanings. You can feel the lack of power at full throttle in most vehicles when it's time, but someone told me that holding any air filter up to the sun or a bright light is a good way to tell the condition and it's been great advice.
Used to live where I'd get a ton of leaf debris etc., aftermarket filters were crap (like half an inch out of spec size), and Toyota orginals were pricey, so I went to a washable K&N and haven't looked back.
I used K&N drop in filters as well as the K&N Typhoon intake on previous cars. I don't think the K&N drop in filter makes more than 2-3 hp. The K&N Typhoon intake might make 10 hp. It does sound good though (like all open air filter intake systems).
No performance difference. These are just worth getting because they are reusable.
I bought a K&N Air Filter for both cabin and engine
they wear out and got dirty/worn down too soon so I replaced them with Wix Filters
The one time we went there they didn't put the air filter we bought in, left it on top of the engine, and we drove off with it.
