+1 for Akenbono for 99% street usage.
Owner reviews for brake pads
They're great pads, and when you've fried them you'll get a new set under FCP Euro's lifetime warranty.
I do plenty of track days and the OEM Textar pads are grippy enough, modulate well, and hold up just fine on the track. If you want something that's not loud on the street or dusty as hell, OEM is probably the best option
I have Raybestos AT's(96087) on my front, and Hawk HPS HB418F.646 pads. Don't think Hawk makes the HPS pads anymore though. I'm at about 2.5 years on mine, got 4 years out of the last set, after putting up with the OEM's for 4.5 years. Still on the factory rear drums.
Far better than OEM.
They work great they are an oem supplier.
Agree w/ all above especially EBC red pads. I put in performance rotors (blank, not drilled or slotted though) but not necessary. Just wanted a clean slate for the pads. But the final piece of the puzzle is to run higher performance tires.
The Red stuff pads, no squeaking, rubbing, noise, cracking or uneven wear.
Not cheap, but Endless makes perfect street pads that last a long time, are quiet, very little dust, good cold bite, and high coefficient of friction and heat range.
I love Centric (more specifically StopTech, their performance brand). I use StopTech cryo rotors on all my cars, my TL has the slotted cryos. I really -do not- like their pads though. For some reason the stopping power was just not like Akebono or Red/Yellow stuff. They are super quiet and low/no dust which is great.
Went to a track day over the weekend to realize my EBC Yellow Stuff front brake pads were dangerously low - after only 1 previous track day 6 months ago and about 5000 highway miles between.
