I am no mechanic but my 2012 had a head gasket replaced at 166,000 no problems since , I am at 240,000

Subaru fixed the head gasket issue in 2011, modern Subarus are just as reliable as Honda and Toyota with the proper maintenance.
I had a 2004 Civic 6 years ago and it kept driving with a blown head gasket I didn’t know about.
Are you sure it was the head gasket and not like the valve cover gasket? An oil leak from the head gasket is possible but really unusual. When a head gasket blows usually you start burning coolant, not leaking oil. Something in this story doesn’t quite make sense to me.
non blown HG ( Toyota at time set too low of spec for bolts. So many blew early).
