Get bilstein B4 OE shocks. Decent price and will ride like stock.

Koni yellows. I have run them on my GLI and currently my MkVI GTI and they are great with lowering springs.
I like my Bilstien B8's, made for lowered cars.
I put Bilstein b6 on mine but you’d have to probably do the front too if not going with OEM stuff. I also put 034 mounts which are fine on the front but I’m about to go back to stock on the back due to noise.
my e91 has bilstein B6 with stock springs and it rides great.
I have the Koni Special Active on my '08 328xi. I installed them at about 95K miles; my apparently original shocks were leaking. Less body roll in fast corners. My expired shocks were mushy, so these feel a bit stiffer.
Ive been impressed with Koni 80 shocks and dobinsons springs..
No frills, good ride, reliably does what it is supposed to.
The difference is night and day, car is 30mm lower front and 15mm in the back. Feels more planted, feedback is more responsive and absorbs bumps a bit firmer but still feels nicer than the floatier stock setup. Previously would float into a corner whereas it feels predictable and how a Bimmer should.
My suspension progression has been S-line stock -> Euro S-line springs on stock dampers -> Bilstein PSS10 -> Ohlins R&T with Euro springs. I did like a lot of aspects of the Bilsteins, but they are just a little too harsh for me on uneven pavement around town
I have Bilstein B8 Performance shock absorbers with Eibach EW 2067001VA springs; on a sedan 2002 530i manual transmission.
Great ride on a perfectly smooth road and stable on the highway at high speeds.
Horrible where I live.
To be honest, I kinda regret installing them.
