Purchase the full timing belt kit from rock auto Aisin timing belt kit. Consists of belt , tensioner, and pulleys. Any other cheap brand will not last.
Owner reviews for timing belt kit
I bought a timing belt kit manufactured by Aisin, and it was very good. It comes with a new water pump, tensioner assembly and idler. The car runs smoothly.
I like the Continental kits on Rock Auto. They use all Japanese bearings (same as OEM), great belts, and a great pump. It’s basically OEM. $175 for the kit. Also, don’t forget to change out the cam seals and crank seal while you’re in there (might as well do both drive belts too). I did my 3MZ and was super happy with it.
I used AISIN kit on my wife's 2013 Honda pilot. It worked out great.
running that kit now, engine go purrrrrrrr
Aisin or OEM. Only 2 options for timing belt kit. I did mine 2 years ago and not a single problem.
I used the aisin kit on my 07. Got it from summit at the time. No issues.
I just did my ej205 with a gates kit and all bearings were NSK/koyo/NTN and matched the originals that came out.
2008 Honda Accord, 3.5L. Bought with 163k-ish miles and having no history, I probably ordered a timing belt kit. Gates usually treats everyone well, so I didn't hesitate and installed it. All new including water pump, idler, tensioner roller and hydraulic tensioner. Everything in-time perfectly and it ran for 2,000 miles without issue.
Fuck gates kits. They are junk. I’ve heard of this happening in several occasions along with the timing belt snapping on people with very low miles or simply from it being too cold out.
