I’ve got a ‘19 SE that I put Michelin cross climate 2’s on. That combined with driving in low gear on snow-covered roads has done well for me so far.
Owner reviews for tires
I have continental dws06 plus all seasons and haven't had a hiccup. This car has treated me surprisingly well in the snow
Michellin. X and my 2015 Jetta I have 0 issues driving in snow ice condition. The feedback from the car give me the feeling of the road and makes me anticipate my Next Movement
My 2021 GLI drives great with Hakkapelitas
We have a '25 Sport and run Blizzaks on it and its been great the last two winters.
I have a MK6 and it handles great on snow with winter tires.
Here in the UK I replaced mine about 2 years after the last set were installed. Car averages about 11000 miles per year. The previous ones were Bridgestone Alenza I think. I went with the Pirelli P Zero NCS for the 22 inch rims. I cant tell if they are quieter but handle well.
They rebalanced the OEM Continentals with some improvement, but they still vibrated. I replaced the tires at 36k with Pirrellis (sp?). Some improvement with the vibration but still.
I bought a used BMW last year with those tires. The car drove absolutely horribly. Putting on a different set of wheels/tires with nothing special tires was like changing all 4 struts. Those Winruns have the most outrageously out of control vertical/sidewall control that I've ever seen in a radial car tire. It's a constant bobbing up and down.
