Go for Aisin, Toyota just repackages same pump so skip the brand tax.
Owner reviews for water pump
Aisin pump $67 on rockauto. I know they make a ton of Toyota OEM water pumps, not sure about this specific model.
I wish I knew myself before my overheating probs with the failed first gen water pumps from toyota. Once the new pump was in the engine would work really well when it comes to heating and cooling.
I also have the Blueprint brand pump in another one of mine and I'm happy with the quality of either brand.
Sounds a bit lock rod knock? At the same time from my experience when the water pumps start going bad on Subarus it sounds 1:1 like rod knock. Please get your timing belt and water pump looked at.
I had a 2017 GT… here are common issues that I also ended up having:
Water pump went out at 60k
AC started to struggle, especially on hot days, around 70k miles
Happened to me also. Bought an oem ford motorcraft water pump for my f150 and almost ruined my block trying to install it . Was cast slightly larger than oem. Ended up returning it and buying one from ford , fit right in.
During COVID, that water pump was on backorder from Ford so I used one from Gates. I guess Gates had a bad batch and 2 of their's failed in the span of less than a year.
The Aisin kits are fine. I would not use a gates kit; the water pumps are junk and so are the tensioners
what I had problems with is with Graf water pump, that was included as part of FCP euro cooling system kit, water pump seal around the bearing started pouring coolant like a waterfall after only 11k miles, I replaced it with a Stewart pump
