Alternator Denso or OEM Mazda
I had the original alternator go last summer (it was old). Mechanic replaced it, and then went thru 3 batteries over the course of the summer.
The alternator was the culprit. Replaced it with a Denso (Acura OEM) and the problem was solved. Aftermarket alternator was the source of the parasitic draw.
I have a 2005 Pilot and just did this a few months ago.
Denso. They are the OE manufacturer and those things last 20 years. They only offer a reman for your car, but it’s a good product.
I only install Denso alternators in my Japanese cars and never had an issue. Aftermarket alternators have a high failure rate. Denso is solid.
A rebuilt Denso is fine and much cheaper. $200 on RockAuto after core refund. Trust me they are perfect to use. You don't need a brand new one from Honda.
A rebuilt Denso brand alternator will be reliable. Denso box or a Honda box is what I trust, no other brands/savings are worth it.
I worked at a parts place and denso reman is the best. People hear reman and think it’s cheap, but denso is literally the OEM, they take it apart and replace the internals with new ones.
I replaced the my 2010's alternator with a reman denso from RockAuto. Did it myself. Pretty straightforward. I would say a reman denso is better than a new non denso. Some cheap alternators are very unreliable. I've had no issues thus far. It's been about 4 months.
Denso is reputable and quality I doubt you'd run into any issues
I’d recommend DENSO reman as they make a bunch of OEM stuff for our cars. Recently put a denso in my car after I got the pure energy brand on rock auto that failed.
denso manufacture rebuild. don't fall for the auto part store rebuilds, not worth it no matter what warranty
Denso only. New ones aren’t that much off Rockauto. Don’t get any parts store junk- you’ll be replacing it again
