I did always like the Moog Problem Solver ball joints in Dodge front ends, they were really heavy duty and lasted way longer than the stock parts.
I replaced both ball joints on my own. Used moog parts and I think they're $28 each. You'll need to get a bushing press kit to press the old one out and the new one in - but you can borrow one from an auto store. There are videos on YouTube to see if it's something you want to tackle.
You might want to consider genuine Toyota ball joints; they are the same quality as the ones that lasted 11 years
Moog is great quality if you buy the ck part numbers.

All 4 of my ball joints on my 05 f150 4x4 are new moogs. My first drive after they were all on felt awesome.
A Moog ball joint broke as I was installing it. Will never use their parts again.
Ah, he never checked his lower ball joint... Older Toyota's truck are known to do this.
Look at the size of the ball on the Moog brand (L) next to the VW (R).
