Brake discs Zimmermann or STOPTECH
I went with Zimmerman z-coat rotors and Hawks Performance Ceramic pads when I had my E46. Great stopping power, and low brake dust. The bite was progressive, so it required a little more force on the brake pedal, but it was easy to modulate how much you wanted to brake.
The rotors have come in I usually go with EBC but I had to cut their slotted rotors twice cuz of pulsation, stoptech has been good so far.
I installed Stoptech Brake Rotors and EBC Red Stuff pads together with SS brake lines. It really stops well now.
Have them on my Tiguan with Zimmerman rotors, not a peep so far, excellent grip too.
I went with Zimmerman Rotors and EBC Red Stuff pads from NGP. Not slotted or drilled, just a quality German made rotor. The material quality difference is evident. My only complaint is the Red Stuff pads do make more brake dust, but its a pretty minor grievance. The rotors were also coated to prevent unsightly rusting.
Just installed stoptech slotted rotors f/r along with hawk hps 5.0, so far so good, quiet linear pedal response, not over boasted like stock, much less dust.
I did the OE sized StopTech setup on my car in July. I really like them. I don't have a lot of time on them, but I'm happy with them so far.
As stated, Zimmerman's are a great rotor. They're a popular application on Porsche.
Zimmerman's are good rotors. Had them for ~45K on the front of a B5.5.
I have Zimmerman's installed in the rear. They are the coat z rotors that insure the hubs don't rust. They are very good in combination with Akebono pads.
