Brake pads ATE or Ferodo
Ferodo DS2500 are a classic high performance street pad, every time I go through a set I am sure something better must have come along and do some market research, always end up back on the DS2500´s as an everday/occasional track pad. They are cheap and they last forever (really) relative to punishment taken, they are dusty though, that´s really my main issue with them.
If you can't find ceramic pads, get Ferodo Premium Eco Friction.
I’ve been using the pads for at least 15k miles on my 2015 evo, haven’t had any issues. Stops perfectly
Ferodo DS2500s were a popular autox/light track pad back in my Subaru days, they did well for me.
Been using these brake pads and shoes in my cars for the last 20 years with no issues
stick with ATE or akebono. both good for their price. have ran both on my e39 and they work great with their respective rotors
FWIW I wound up with those Brembo front and Zimmerman coated rears with ATE ceramic pads and I’m very happy with it. To me the stock setup is grabby at low speeds and these are much smoother. I don’t feel like I’ve lost any stopping power. Huge difference in brake dust.
Even the parts prices are on a different level, ie brake pads with a Volvo logo on them - 160€, with ATE (they allegedly produce the original pads too) logo - 60€...
DS2500s on my daily. Bit of squeak, but it’s not bad at all. I have EBC yellow on the rear as they don’t make DS2500s for a non PP mk7.5, and they’re garbage.
I put some Ferodo DS2500s for a HPDE event at the end of July and noticed discoloration and crumbling on the edges. Swapped them out with PFC08s for this weekend’s HPDE and noticed chunks of material missing from the inner of the pad.
