Brake pads Brembo or OEM Honda
We use (and sell / stock) the Brembo rotors and sport (HP2000) pads. Better performance than stock, perfectly streetable and equally capable for track days or tarmac rally. Great value too
I had EBCs on my 2010 for about 40k miles and liked them. Switched to brembos 2 weeks ago and they aren’t as good. They’ll last longer though I’m sure with less dust. I wouldn’t say it’s overkill, it’s a big vehicle and you can’t put a premium on stopping faster especially if you do any towing.
I replaced the front rotors and pads with factory Brembo at 45k. When the rears needed replacement at 55k, I replaced the front and rear rotors and pads with PowerStop Z26. Couldn’t be happier with the swap - less dust and better stopping than stock.
Just replace the rears with the same brake pads aftermarket really suck. They do wear out fast but their worth it. Rotors get them Online their about $250 for two rear rotors and brake pads runs around $300 for the Euro pads for the Dynamic Edition.
Zimmermann cross-drilled rotors and Brembo pads were ironically the best priced option for my car lol.
I got Brembo pads for my 2012 S550. Under $200CAD for front and rear Brembo pads
For years my brakes on my CRV squeaked. My dad replaced them. A few other people/shops worked on them. Still squeaked. I'm talking YEEEAAAARRRRRS. I resigned myself to being *that person* at every friggin stop light. Needed new brakes again. Unique situation as it was, the Honda dealership ended up doing it. It was like $500 but they stopped squeaking!!!! It was heavenly to be a silent stopper.
Mine squeal sometimes at 5-15mph. Stock Brembo pads too.
I have a 2017 BRZ with the Performance package 34k miles. Brembo's squeal when slowing down at around 5-15mph. The dealership can't figure out why it's squealing. I found some forums where brake squeals are normal for Brembo.
Same! This was after they quoted me over the phone that it would be $800. Fuck the dealership. Try to find you a good, honest mechanic. When you do, hold on to them tight and never let go.
Ended up paying $1,600 for all 4 pads and rotors on my 2016 STI.
