Brake pads EBC or DIXCEL
I have EBC SR-11s, 3 track days and like 8k street miles of them. Very very embarrassingly noisy but they still got 80% life left at least. And they don\u2019t wear the rotor like crazy either.
I use Reds and they are pretty good and no sounds that I’m aware of coming out of them. They stop very well
Look into EBC Redstuff pads and see if they offer it for your M3. Also consider either ceramic coating the wheel surface or paying to get it professionally coated. I switch most of my BMW’s to this brake pad and the dusting is significantly reduced while still maintaining a good bite and braking performance.
Dump the OEM pads. I went Dixcel in my M3 and the thing stops better and there’s so much less dust. Traded off is squeal at higher brake temps.
EBC Red Stuff pads will fix ya up nicely. Way less dust, better performing.
I use EBC blue stuff on my Mach 1 for national competition in F Street. Coefficient of friction of .52. modulate well, try them on the street all the time, and take a pretty good beating.
I went with EBC rotors and RedStuff pads.
I've been using my SR11s for nearly a year now for few trackdays and some street events. I'm getting tired of SR11s downhill usage more and more since it won't hold and lose brakes so I have to be really careful. Also it seems a bit inconsistent for daily usage/semi-fast touge style drives. Some days it's the best thing ever but somedays it feels like the brake pad is dead.
Many years ago, I converted my 88 Cabriolet to Corrado G60 front brakes. The pads were junk. They ruined [caused the front rotors to warp] a couple sets of rotors before I pitched the pads.
I also have some EBC braided lines and yellow stuff on my ST. But I think I didn't really brake them in before using them very hard. Needed to brake from around 200kph for a corner on the Nurburgring and fried them. The bite it used to have is gone now, I think I overcooked them
