Brake pads OEM Nissan or Hawk Performance
hawk HPS 5.0 are great pads for daily and ‘spirited’ driving
I've enjoyed my Hawk HPS 5.0 pads quite a bit, though I have the PP brakes. Handled a track day very well with no fade (I'm no pro so I'm sure they can fade if pushed hard enough).
slapped on hawk pads and it’s been great way less dust than OEM
centric cryo rotors with hawk gt 5.0 pads, last forever no fade during hard street driving
I’ve got an 06 350z, driven it for a year put only 5k miles but, had no problems. I also own an 05 g35 with the same DE engine and it’s got 135k and never had any major problems, and I’ve put over 110k of those miles on that car. No major repairs..1 air bag recall, I redid the clutch at 125k, had to rewire the trunk to work, and I replaced a window motor. Nothing else but, oil changes, brake jobs and battery changes. Both cars are fun to drive, and being as old as they are they cost me very little to maintain, insure, and pay minimal amount for property tax. For some perspective. Next week i’m doing the front and rear brakes on the Z. It’s gonna cost about $65-70 for parts.
i run dedicated track pads, HAWK HP+ . they are loud and filthy but perform phenomenally well for my skill level.
Hawk 5.0 can be *okay* if you aren't pushing to hard yet but theyre going to be a limitation.
I have used HPS 5.0 for a long time now. They do dust a decent amount.
Happens to me as well on the track. The Hawk “ street performance” pads I used aren’t cutting it.
I swapped to Hawk HP+ as a hybrid but ultimately I hated them on both street and track. They worked fine though.
