Brake pads OEM Nissan or Hawk Performance
If you want upgraded pads. Try HAWK 5.0 pads. You can't go wrong with a better initial bit, better response and shorter stopping distance.
I ran Hawk HPS5.0 on my WRX for a while (with STI Brembos) and aftermarket rotors. They worked pretty well for dual purpose.
For street manners but still functional for autocross purposes I liked the Hawk HPS 5.0.
I run Hawk HPS which have reduced dust as compared to the factory OE Brembo pads. They are quiet enough too.
Hawk HP 5.0 was a decent enough upgrade for my tuned S5 and still perfectly fine for street use for my first few track days.
I have a friend with a near-identicle Zenki to mine, his is powered by a built single turbo rb26. He's making well in excess of 700whp and the z32s are plenty of brake for him as a point of reference.
I really like my hawk er1’s. They work whether they’re cold or hot. I daily drive my rx8 during the summer, and drive to track days and autoX. They are squeaky and pretty dusty
WRT the Hawk Pads… I’ve run both compounds and for a beginner you’re not going to notice the difference. They’re both good track pads. Do not run them on the street or if you do try to minimize the time you are on them and know you will have horrible stopping distance when cold.
I changed out the oem and ran Hawks for a while, braking distance wan't much difference but the brake dust was terrible, Rims where dirty all of the time.
Had to get all brake pads done 22k miles in. Brake still makes a sound when released could be bushings but not a major enough issue yet to replace.
