Brake pads POWER STOP or STOPTECH
Centric rotors and Power Stop Z23 pads. I drive hard daily and autocross with them and ZERO fade. With the right tires you can outbrake the ABS. Just make sure you bed them properly as it's different than other pads. Over a year on my car, close to 100 autocross runs, 10,000ish miles and still going strong.
My choices were EBC slotted front rotors and StopTech "Street" performance brake pads. Major improvement over oe in stopping distance and resistance to brake fade.
Pads, lines, fluid are a lot less and make a huge difference. No need to go BBK or retrofit unless like others brought up. Track it, Auto-X it, or push it on some backroads often. If you have the Performance Pack, the PP brakes are even better. I did an OEM+ refresh on my IS38 MK7. Stoptech slotted, Stoptech SS lines, Stoptech STR600 fluid, EBC Red pads. Still non PP factory rotor size, but brake fade comes on much further out for me now. Gives me a healthy window to enjoy pushing the car before fade kicks in. Tires matter and help more for braking difference. So if that's what you're chasing. Get a really good set of summer compounds on the car.
I changed my break pads themselves since the rotors can last a good while, PowerStop Z26. HIGHLY recommend. Great breaking and no break dust/squeal like the Brembos. I kept the Brembos for track days but for some spirited driving and daily, PoweersStops.
I recommend Power Stop ceramic pads and solid rotors. The 6 is an economy car by design. So, there are no practical or worthy trade offs to other types of rotors/material besides aesthetics.Since it's a 16', I highly recommend doing a full brake job even if your mileage is low. If I am correct, the 2016 model has an electronic brake that requires a service mode to be able to do the job(refer to manual since I can't help you on that).
I installed the power stop ck8067 and I’m happy with them. I went with the geomet coating to help with corrosion around the bolts and wheel hub; the coating gets worn off behind the pads instantly. Only time will tell how much it helps though.
I love my power stop brakes. Got a whole kit on rock auto with pads as well as drilled/slotted rotors. Been running it for over 2 years with no complaints at all, they’ve been fantastic brakes
I run power stops on my big turbo daily. Haven't had any issues or noises from them and they work/look great. Been running them for almost 3 years now
I put Stop Techs on my previous Mazda and they were far superior in performance and longevity.
Stoptech + EBC reds is a pretty good option for street.
