Denso Starter motor

Some aftermarket starters are garbage, some are good. Denso starters are usually pretty solid if they still make them for your vehicle.

Pros: Denso starters are solid
Cons: aftermarket starters are garbage

I would recommend a Honda genuine remanufactured starter. 3year/36k mile warranty and it's a genuine Honda part so it will work.

Pros: genuine part, good warranty
Cons: cheap aftermarket starters cause fault
Vehicle: Honda

The best will always be OE Honda (or Denso, that's the OE manufacturer). RockAuto has a remanufactured Denso for $183, that's the one I'd go with.

Pros: OE quality, reliable
Vehicle: Honda

I finally had to replace my OE starter on my 2nd gen at \~230k miles. The OEM Denso starters that Toyota uses on these trucks are solid. You are more than likely fine for a long time.

Pros: solid, long lasting
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 230000 km

Cons: not a cheap starter
