OEM Toyota Timing belt

I’ve seen the genuine Toyota belts go well over 100k before they give up. They were 60k belts years ago that would usually cross 100 and occasionally double the recommended interval before they broke.

Pros: long-lasting, exceeds interval
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 160000 km

The timing belt on the 4.7 engine needs changing every 100k, which is stupid.

Rating 1.0

Personally I use the gates blue racing T-belt, I've had a belt snap prematurely and it was within a few months of owning my e30. Belt was only 4 or 5 years old too.

Cons: snapped prematurely, short lifespan
Vehicle: BMW

Gates Timing belt

One this I did notice. Your belt is a gates t240, when I bought my truck the previous owner had that belt, and I found issues with it. The proper belt for mine is a gates T154. 154 being for 92 and earlier and 240 for 93 and up.

Cons: found issues
Vehicle: Toyota 4runner
Part number: T240
