BFGoodrich Tires

Wow, I only got 30k on my Firestones and they were worn down! I went with BF Goodrich Advantage T/A just because they were on sale. So far so good.

Pros: so far so good
Cons: worn down quickly
Mileage: 30000 km

I just put on my 285 75 16 maxxis at811s a few days ago. Road noise is almost none, you would have to turn the speakers off and listen for it. Load rating E so stiffness is definitely a given. Braking is definitely harder because of the weight.

Pros: road noise almost none
Cons: braking is harder

Maxxis Tires

Gotta say, I've been a big fan of my maxxis tires. Super solid tire for a brand that isn't exactly a household name (I wouldn't call them offbrand, just not a big name).

Pros: super solid tire

So, over 500 miles on these tires. Dirt roads, a little bit of real off-road, freeway, grooved freeway, some rain (no snow). Here are my thoughts.

So far, because these are so light, I can discern virtually no difference in handling from the cheese-ball OEM tires. Mileage may have taken a slight dip based on the computer, probably due to the more aggressive tread pattern, but I'm still consistently getting over 20mpgs.

These things are really quiet. On grooved highways, really stable. Rain. It wasn't a toad-floater, but no hydroplaning, very stable and confidence inspiring. Braking, Excellent, better than the BFG/Wildpeaks, probably due to lower weight. Acceleration, Really really good. Again, because of the low weight, they come up to speed nicely. Dirt Roads. A really fun tire. Plenty of grip, easy to feel when they are starting to slide. And they slide very predictably. Real Off Road. Very compliant. Highway compliance. A very nice, comfortable tire. Cornering. The carcass is slightly stiffer than OEM, so they feel more planted in the twisty bits. Look. This is subjective, but I think these are the best looking tire's I've ever had.

Pros: really quiet, stable, excellent braking
Cons: slight dip in mileage
Mileage: 805 km

bfgoodrich g-force comp-2 a/s

These tires should be perfect. They provide a VERY surprising amount of grip on dry and wet roads for all season tires. I even run these tires throughout the east coast winter and they handle very well in snow and storms for all season tires.

Only cons I noticed with these tires is that they are bit more noisy and I noticed the slightest drop in mpg after putting these tires on. Tread life is bit lower than average since they are ultra high performance all season tires. I've put about 15,000 miles on them, I can probably get about another 15,000 out of them.

Pros: very surprising amount of grip
Cons: bit more noisy
Mileage: 24140 km

I’ve had KO2’s on my Jeep Wrangler, RAM Rebel, and my gf’s 4Runner. They’re impossible to balance, caused a death wobble on my Jeep, and aren’t snow rated (compared to Nitto’s). I swapped over to the Ridge Grapplers for all 3 platforms and will never ever look back.

Cons: impossible to balance, death wobble
