Tires Continental or Cooper
The OEM Dunlops and Falkens are absolutely rubbish and needs to be replaced to get a true sense of ride and handling of the mazda6. I replaced by Dunlops at around 18k miles with Conti DWS 06 and it completely transformed my car.
I’ve driven an AWD crossover with Continental True Contacts in deep heavy snow without issue.
Continental makes some of the best product in the industry and is very high quality
Continental is the far superior tire if the cotinental is also a winter tire. The studded Westlake may out perform the conti on glare ice and hard packed snow for the first season, maybe 2, but the continental will last longer and out perform the Westlake in just about every other way.
I took them off at around 5,000 miles and went with Cooper discover at3 4s tires. It's been 55,000 miles and I'm finally getting close to a new set and will probably throw the cooper's back on since they've been wonderful so far
I have a Tucson AWD in North Dakota... I was down to two tires when choosing my last set, the Nokian WR G4 and Cooper Discoverer Enduramax. Either would have been fine but I went with the Coopers because I drive some gravel and rough roads and the Coopers are a little "tougher" tire
I run the Contis ECS and love them.
I had Continental Extreme Contact Sports on my STI, they were great.
Cooper evolutions for me. Only issue I've had is getting high centered after driving by a snowbank
Switched from Continental Der Baron 2.6" to Dhf/Dhr (3c maxxterra) 2.8" combo. DHR has less grip on uphill and roots, which is really annoying after expecting something great, because everyone loves these tyres...
