Tires Continental or Triangle
We got conti vikingcontact 7. They've been fantastic. They were much cheaper than the Michelin's which I hear mixed reviews of.
No change in noise vs stock tires, feel like more lateral grip. We average only 1kwh/100km more on the winters vs all seasons (but it was also much colder when they were on for so I don't think they lost much efficiency).
1600 miles later after a TN road trip and I love these Contis. Quiet, excellent rain performance and good in the curves. We had two emergency stops and these things stuck like glue.
I replaced the run flats with Continental Sure Grip right of the rip. World of difference in ride.
Continental extreme contact I think is what my bf has on his little Audi sedan, and we got thru last winters blizzard with ease. All I know is they are hard to squeal cause they won’t slide!
Yeah I too have ran both Michelin AS3+ and PSAS4, and 2 sets of Continental DWS06 (the original and another set of the "Plus") and I choose the DWS06 since they are a little more comfort oriented, a little less summer performance oriented. Have not had any real complaints about any of them, besides maybe my AS3+ getting noisy as they wore down but they dont make or sell those anymore so it's a moot point. Love the treadlife on the DWS06.
I've run the Michelin AS3+ and the Conti DWS06+ , I greatly preferred the DWS06+ in daily driver situations. They were softer riding, and felt much more confident in the rain/snow and were fantastic with evacuating water. The Michelin were better as a performance tire in the spirited drives and such, but for me that was .5% of the time and I never regretted the Conti's. I've never had a long term positive experience with Pirelli tires and personally wouldn't purchase a set.
I’ve had the DWS06+ on a couple of cars now and they were great, no complaints. Good grip in wet/dry/light snow and not noisy.
It has been my go to tire for last 8 years. Very happy overall, but I also dont have any experience with other brands you mentioned. I like them, "if it is not broke dont fix it" mentality
Now with 17K miles i have had three flats due to the well known issues with Stock Conti's on the 20' Rosarios. Replaced with Goodyear upfront and so far so good.
They were better OEM tires than the Continentals that came on a previous Mercedes Benz or several VWs. I have *nothing* good to say about Continentals; bad experience every time.
