Tires MICHELIN or BRIDGESTONE
I use Blizzak DMV2 (suv version of the WS80) on my Santa Fe. Unstoppable in deep snow, but that has mattered maybe twice so far this winter. On ice they have been better than my all seasons, but they have not been incredible.
I found the Bridgestone tire to be alittle more forgiving and last longer. The grip on these tires are both amazing and hard to tell them apart on snow and ice.
I have X-ice 3 on my Tucson and they are great. My brother also has them on his Tucson, he does daily highway drives and he loves them.
I purchase michelin tires because they are used on airplanes, the space shuttle, and formula one cars (formerly).
And of course better tires - upgraded to Michelin Premiers for best suite of AS characteristics.
After taking the WS80's out in some snow and firm hardpack, I am very impressed.
I do like the PSS much more than my old Bridgestones. They are so much quieter. I'm sure I'll very much enjoy the next 10-12K miles I get out of them.
I bought Michelin PSS due to everyone online telling me to and HOLY SHIT. Best tires ever
2015 MK7-R purchased June 2015, now has 6900 miles with Bridgestone (130 Treadwear-RIDICULOUS), rotated at 6500 at Discount tire, 7/32 in front and 8/32 in the rear. Mostly city driving, only 4.5 miles to work.
Mine came with Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS, and I hate them.
