Tires MICHELIN or BRIDGESTONE
I just put on Bridgestone RE760 Sport's on my car about 250km's ago. I was looking for exactly what you are, good treadlife and good all-around performance for the occasional track day... I cannot say enough good things about this tire, it meets and exceeds all expectations that i have had thus far; and with 340 treadwear i expect these 205/40's to last for a good amount of time. You can't go wrong with this tire!
As far as the Bridgestone tires, I have ran them for 2 years and they have been an excellent all season tire. They do everything well and easily beat the factory tires.
I can attest to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. They are freekin excellent: grippy, grippy and predictable in the rain, really quiet, ride nice, and the treadwear warranty can't be beat.
I have the Revo 1s on my Subaru Outback, and feel that they are great winter tires. And I can assure you, we have real winter here in the Minnesnowta area!
Summer tires are great in the rain. Michelin Pilot PS2's, Dunlop Sport Maxx's, Goodyear Eagles, Pirelli P-Zeros... any of those are going to be outstanding at high speed wet weather driving.
The Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza have done everything perfectly for me so far. They have been a very good tire. Perhaps a B+ or a A-.
Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's have worked well for me. This is my 3rd set...1st on the Touareg. Had the Pirelli Scorpion's -- Was not very impressed with those.
I have got the Bridgestone RE960A/S and they are just a good all around tire. I have put more than 30k miles on them and have only one complaint...some noise. That is it. They handle great in the dry, wet, and even snow here in Michigan. They also wear great.
I wasn't thrilled to see the OEM tire choice is yet again the marginal Bridgestone RE92, but they seem to do the job without being noisy. I have a feeling a set of dry-pavement UHP tires (RE730, S-03, etc) would make a good thing even better.
Bridgestone Potenza G009 195/50/15 (horrible crap tires)
