Another option is to run four-season tires like the Michelin CrossClimate 2. Those are not as good as dedicated winters, but do have the mountain/snowflake symbol and can be left on year 'round. My daughter in AA takes that approach and seems happy with the compromise.

At 70K miles I went with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S4 tires. That was about 7,000 miles ago and they are by far the best tires I have had on this car.
The sportiest all-weather tires are probably the Michelin CrossClimate 2, Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 2, and Pirelli WeatherActive.

had mrf, changed to michelin, big difference and worth the price. (TB 350). also have installed apollo in my scooty, no complains so far, can give it a try in future.
The tread pattern on the cross climate tires is noisy and you might notice a drop in mileage (-10mpg has been reported).
I have Michelin soft rubber winter tires. I have zero traction on the ice.
