Tires MICHELIN or NITTO
The second day I owned my '22 Highlander, I swapped out the OEM tires for the Michelin Defenders. They are by far my favorite tires. I live way out in the country on a dirt road that doesn't get plowed for hours after a snow storm. These are truly year round tires and I don't have any problems in six inches of snow. I can't rate them high enough. Just fantastic tires.
I’ve had very good experience with Michelin Defenders. They are a good quality tire and I would highly recommend. If you live in a snowy state, they do fantastic in the snow.
We're almost a year later and I did end up getting the PS5, very impressed by the tire so far, and since the tire allowed it I ended up driving the car in conditions that I wouldn't have had I gotten a more extreme tire, I really thought I just wouldn't even want to drive it in shit weather, but turns out I did want to and having tires that didn't allow would suck. Dry grip is impressive, I've driven Pzero and other tires that are supposed to be premium and sporty, but that didn't feel THAT much better over just a good quality but standard level tire. But these are a very noticeable step up, to the point that when you want to get squirrely the extra grip really shows as they're much harder to break loose. Wet gry is really good and overall they seem to be pretty progressive. We'll see for track days hopefully later this year.
Nitto Recon Grappler. Great tires, very quiet but look great
Michelin Defender LTX M/S. They are silky smooth on the highway and very capable off-road. The downside is, they don't have an aggressive look, if that's what you're going for.
My M3 came with PS4S with the factory and when it's time for new tires I'll be replacing them with the same tires. They have been great overall and even though we got a bit of rain here this season in CA I didn't have any problems with them
The last set of Michelin pilot sport's I had, I could drive in the wet like I did in the dry, with the absolute confidence my car would handle exactly as I expected it to, with no aqua plaining.
Michelin Defenders are the best tire you can get in my opinion. If you don’t need all terrains, it’s Defenders every day all day. I’ve had a dozen sets on various vehicles and they are simply the best.
I use them. Good in the rain. But need to get hot on the track for full grip.
I came here looking for advice on other tire brands because I just got back from a garage after having a Michelin Primacy blowout, at speed, on the interstate, come to find that blowouts are pro rated. I only have 20k on these tires and that’s fuckin’ bullshit.
