Tires MICHELIN or Nokia
I went from those same tires to Michelin PS4s and I'm very happy with them. I have no issues in the rain.
Tiguan 17” steelies, et38 6.5w. I might have went a little too nuts and ceramic coated them, metal valve stems, greased weights/stems for anti corrosion, ordered Transporter T4 Lug-covers from EU and put Nokian R5 Hakkapelittas on
Yea I work at a tire shop they look exactly like every other set of nokians we throw on
I gotta say the factory Michelin PS AS 4 on non z51 c8s are actually incredible. I can't believe how well they hook up for an all season.
I would say get studless snow tires (not all-seasons): Michelin X-Ice Snow, Bridgestone Blizzak WS90, or Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5.
I was faced with the same issue, so I measured the tread depth difference. In about 16 K miles, my Michelin Defenders were down by about 0.178 mm or 0.007\" or 0.224/32.
Michelin X-Ice tires on sale at Canadian Tire have one the best value for a quality tire.
Crossclimate2 tires are really really good.
They're wild since they not only have superb snow traction, the dry traction actually is close to summer touring tire levels of grip.
The trade-off is rain. Still above average.
The most wild thing is I installed mine at 27,000 miles 3 years ago. I'm at 77,000 miles (50k on the tires) and Costco told me they measured at 5/32.
That means I'll get 70k miles out of these tires. Way past the 50k warranty.
I have a Model 3 Performance and I drive it like I stole it, these tires hold up to abuse.
Those are very good tires but needed to replace them recently due to wear. Still would recommend either of them
I'll never buy Nokian again. Lasted me less than two winters (stored properly during the summers) before kal tire refused to put them on due to cracking in the sidewalls. Absolute garbage.
